The process of installing the dongle was actually a bit more frustrating than using an iLok, especially if you already have the SSL licenses installed via software dongle. SSL only allows you to do this a few times, so if you are planning on taking these plug-ins with you, as I have been, you need to get the Codemeter USB dongle.

In using it with just the Codemeter software, transferring the licenses from desktop to laptop was a more time consuming process than plugging or unplugging a USB dongle, but it worked fine. It was chosen by SSL because of its ability to transfer licenses from one machine to another with or without using an external dongle. SSL uses the included WIBU Codemeter software protection scheme.

I initially installed/tested the SSL Duende Native line in Pro Tools 9 on a MacBook Pro Intel Duo Core 2.2 GHz laptop, and on an 8-core Mac Pro 2.4 GHz desktop via Pro Tools HD Native. I’ve been using these plug-ins almost daily since I got them in September – earlier on in Pro Tools 9, and now in Pro Tools 10. I tend to type better when im not on a phone. The Duende Native Studio Pack bundles all of seven plug-ins reviewed here.ĭuende Native works within most major recording software platforms including Logic, Cubase, Ableton Live, Reaper and PreSonus’ Studio One.

Heck, you could even save them as templates and decide on what Desk you will be working on at will! of course I'm thinking of a full channel strip.I like the idea! Heck, you could even save them as templates and decide on what Desk you will be working on at will! of course I'm thinking of a full channel strip. Like an option to select a Neve console emulation that would basically replace the SSL Mixer at the beginning of your sessions!? Imagine if Propellerheads would gives us a New SSL or other Mixer emulation at the click of a mouse.

I was thinking about something along those lines the other day. What would be very slick is if Props would add the kinds of features these other consoles have, like saturation, channel variations etc. I am tempted to try the new Console G and see if it works properly. Seqoi - Were you able to run the PA Bx_Console E in Reason? I tried it but it causes a crash every time, it seems to work at first and then freezes up Reason which then has to be shut down and re-opened. I got the Waves SSL because for such a cheap price if it does anything at all useful it's worth it. I figured there probably wasn't much in it so I'll save my money and buy some beer or something! If not i mean if you work solely in Reason then my opinion is that you don't need it.Ĭheers for the reply. My advice is if you plan to use Waves G SSL outside Reason then go for it. Imo Reason is not quite there regarding SSL emulation like UAD or PA but good i mean really good representation of an SSL board. My personal opinion is that Reason SSL EQ and channel strip while not sounding the same as Waves one is better to work with, more pleasing sound and more musical - read faster to mix with. To my findings Waves is definitely worth 29$ if you don't use Reason however if you have Reason then imo it's completely not needed. I have Duende, Waves, Plugin Alliance, Acustica and i use UAD SSL plugins.

As the G Series form Waves is on sale for $29 today I wondered if anyone has had the chance to compare the results from this plugin to the Reason SSL channel strip?
